After the feature race, the top three cars must directly report to the tech shed after leaving the track. Also, spectators are not allowed past the chain link fence. No one is permitted to approach the cars before or during the inspection without the track official’s authorization. Non-compliance will result in disqualification and/or the suspension according to the severity of the offense. Illegal parts will be confiscated and not returned. These rules shall be enforced at the sole discretion of the track officials and will be final.
Competing models
- Any four cylinder American or foreign made production sedan or truck with a 94”- 101.5” wheelbase.
- No vans, convertibles, station wagons, turbo or rotary cars.
- Frames: Any stock or built frame. Must be steel. Main frame rails minimum 1 ¾ x .095” wall round tubing or 2” x 2” x .120” wall square tubing. Wedge bolts optional steel only.
- Grills may be removed and replaced with sheet metal between hood and bumper. No sheet metal below bumper. Gravel shield and radiator support may be removed. Pipe bumpers are authorized maximum 2” in diameter. Must be curved back into car even with inside of tire. Not to protrude past outside.
Safety Equipment
- Roll cage – minimum 1 ½ O. D. tubing (minimum thickness .095”)
- Must have loop behind driver. One horizontal bar on passenger side, one horizontal bar connecting front at dash. No exceptions. No square tubing.
- Three door bars with gusset in driver’s door. – 16-gauge steel plate welded or ¼ “aluminum plate bolted on outside of driver’s door bars. Bars must be welded to frame and have four protective bars on driver’s side and must have an x- brace on passenger side and minimum of one door bar.
- Must have 16-gauge steel floor pan in front of pedals to rear of driver’s seat.
- Quick release steering wheel mandatory.
- Racing seat mandatory (mounted properly and approved by tech inspectors)
- 5-point racing seatbelts. No older than two years after expiration date.
- Must have full width window net on driver’s side.
- Must have 16-gauge floor pan from in the front of pedals to back of seat, at least 2” wider than seat.
- Radiators must be mounted in front of engine. Aluminum radiator okay.
- Helmet must be Snell 2000 or newer racing type. No motorcycle helmets.
- Fire suits mandatory
Body
- After market bodies are legal. Steel and aluminum bodies okay. Fiberglass roof or hood are okay. Plastic nose is okay. No full wedge noses. If you make a flat plastic nose, it must go straight down from bumper.
- Trunk and engine compartments must be sealed from driver’s compartment
- Must have 14” opening from door to roof. Both sides.
- Maximum hood scoops height is 4”
- Must have safety bars in front of driver
- Must pass safety and technical inspections.
- Spoilers maximum 6” high, may not exceed width of rear deck. Maximum body width at deck is 67” and 72” at the bottom
- Maximum spoiler width is 67” with four braces maximum. Clear Lexan or aluminum only.
- If you cannot easily crawl out right side of the car from driver’s seat, you will be required to have an escape hatch in the roof
- Bodies must have the number on both sides and roof a minimum of 16” tall
- No wings or fins
- No bars outside of sheet metal
- No dash panels closer than 4” to steering wheel
- Minimum roof size is 36” long (from front to back) by 42” wide (side to side)
- Nose length from center of hub is a maximum of 46”
- Rear quarter panel length from center of rear axle is 40”
- Maximum rear deck height is 36”. Maximum roof height is 54”
- Tread width 64” measured from true center of tires at spindle height. (1” tolerance)
Weight
- All cars will weigh One pound per cc minus 150 pounds with driver after the race.
- Maximum 2,550 cc including a maximum bore of .080 including wear.
- All tube cars must weigh a minimum of 2,150 pounds with motor up to 2,300 cc.
- Any stock chassis with full firewall, floor pan and suspension mounts or pick-ups will receive a 100-pound weight break (must be approved by the tech official)
- There is a minimum weight including driver after the race of 2,000 pounds and a maximum of 2,500 pounds
- Cc stickers on hood must match 30 cc +/ or –
- Hans/ full containment seat 25-pound weight break (one or the other, not both)
- Cut/ Lightened ring gear plus 25 pounds
- Polished ring gear plus 25 pounds
- Lightened crankshaft plus 50 pounds (in front of firewall)
- Quick change rear and plus 50 pounds overall weight
- If running flywheel under 15 pounds, plus 25 pounds overall weight
Suspension
- Front – tubular or remanufactured A-frames allowed
- Stock front Spindler with stock brake rotors and calipers (4 lug only)
- No drilling or grinding to lighten Spindler, rotors, calipers or A-frames.
- Any steel tie rods or heim ends are okay. All tie rods and rod ends must be steel.
- Any steel ball joints.
- Two coils or two leaf is on car, no mixing. Front coil over okay.
- Coil spring cars may run any steel or aluminum trailing arms with stock eyes or steel helm joints. Maximum three forward links and 1 panhead bar.
- No rubber bushings, torque arms, or 4 link suspensions. No bird cages.
- Leaf springs may be on slider in rear.
- Changing of springs is permitted
- Lowering blocks and wedge bolts are permitted.
- Strut cars may use adjustable plater for caster camber adjustments.
- Frame may be tied together with box tubing.
- Tube chassis is okay, must be tied to driver compartment
- Rear suspension optional
- Aftermarket rack and pinion are okay. Any steering box is okay.
Engine
- Front of head must not sit more than one inch behind the ball joint
- No porting or polishing. May be Milled. Cylinder head boss may be cut down for short adjusters. (2300)
- No aftermarket or 4 valve headers permitted
- Overhead cams may machine lifter bosses for lashes adjusters
- Overhead cam heads may have cam towers reinforced
- Three angle valve job is permitted (no more than 75 degrees)
- Stainless steel valves okay, must be stock diameter for engine
- No titanium anywhere
- May use after-market springs, retainers and locks
- Ranger 2000 cc with 2300 head must claim 2300 cc weight
- Valve spring pocket may be cut .0100” deeper or may run long valves, stock head and valve diameter
- Any 3-ring flat top piston. Toyota may run dome pistons. .080 overbore including wear
- Any cam and kit. May run adjustable cam sprocket. No roller cams allowed.
- Stock crank for motor used. May be balanced. No grinding or polishing. If crank is lightened see weight penalty.
- Any steel rod permitted.
- Stock blocks only. No after markets. Piston may not protrude from deck. Head and main studs optional
- Optional equipment includes valve covers, oil pan, air filter, camshaft, headers, and timing gears.
- No roller cam lifters or rocker arms
- Adjustable cam gear is okay
- Stock OEM intake as originally produced by manufacturer. No porting, polishing or cleanup of any kind.
- After market MSD okay.
- 490 lift cam is okay.
Clutch and pressure plate
- Stock diameter clutch and pressure plate. Stock type clutch only. May run solid center disc. Minimum 7 ½” diameter.
- Hydraulic clutch pedal okay.
- Flywheel optional, must be stock diameter. (stock or OEM replacement) minimum 15 pounds, to run at stated cc weight.
- If optional 8-pound steel flywheel with stock diameter is used, you must add 25 pounds to overall weight of car.
- No Ram cuppler
- No cast iron or aluminum flywheels are acceptable.
Carburetor
- One 4412 Holley or smaller carburetor allowed. Must pass track gauges.
- Spacer and adapter maximum 1.65” including gaskets on full tube cars.
- Spacer and adapter maximum 2.25” including gaskets on stock frame cars.
- Only straight type squirters may be used. No spider type squirters.
- Removal of choke butterflies and shaft permitted.
- May change jets. (may be made of aluminum or material to isolate heat.)
- Carburetor adapter may be made of aluminum or material to isolate heat.
- Must have air horn with number
- Float bowl must face forward.
- No thinking of shafts.
- No polishing or grinding.
Ignition
- One 12-volt battery only
- Electronic ignition permitted
- No coil packs crank triggered ignitions or magnets allowed.
- Must have battery disconnect switch.
Rear end
- Interchanging of rear ends and transaxles is permitted
- Locked differential permitted
- Floater or quick change okay (must add 50 pounds to stated cc weight)
- Any stock passenger car rear and with 4 lug patterns is okay.
Transmission
- Stock type must have all forward and reverse gears, standard or automatic (torque converter included)
- Steel drive shafts only. Must be painted white. No aluminum, carbon fiber or exotic materials.
- For safety, drive shaft must have 360-degree drive. Shaft loop, a minimum of 1” steel round pipe. Or 1 ½ “X ¼ “steel flat bar.
- Steel spools or welded spider gears are okay.
- Scatter shield recommended
Steering
- Quick steer for the steering box allowed
- Quick steering wheel release mandatory
Brakes
- Must have at least three working brakes. If RF brake is not used it must be removed from spindle.
- No shut offs
- May run aftermarket pedals and master cylinders
- Brake bias permitted
- Rear drum brake or disc brake must use steel calipers. Hats may be aluminum. Rotors may be steel aftermarket (bolt on only)
Tires
- Hoosier 1600 compound, 22.5 or 23.0 casing is the approved tire.
- Full stock frame cars ONLY, may run as an optional tire, Hoosier 1300 compound tire.
- Needling, grooving and sipping is approved
- No removal of factory marking from tires
- No chain tires
Wheels
- 13” X 8” steel wheels only
- 8” Bead-lock wheels allowed on right side only
Fuel
- Gasoline only, no alcohol, no additives, no nitro
- May run electric pumps with oil pressure cut off switch and master electrical shut-off switch accessible to drivers and safety personnel
- Fuel cell mandatory. Must pass safety inspection.
- Fuel must go from fuel cell to the carburetor and cannot pass through any performance enhancing devices
Battery
- May be relocated and must be covered and security strapped down.
- Cars must be self-starting at all times.
Drive shaft
- Steel only. No aluminum, carbon fiber or exotic materials.
- Must have 360-degree drive shaft hoop. Minimum 1” steel round pipe or 1 ½ “X ¼ “steel flat bar.
- Drive shaft must be painted white.
Fuel Cell
- 12-gallon mandatory with foam
- Must have check valve
- Must be mounted in 18-gauge steel box with at least two straps 8” X 2” steel flat bar. (surrounding the entire fuel cell) 9” minimum ground clearance. Rear protection bars below bumpers minimum 1 ¼” X .095 round tubing.
- Must have fire extinguisher with gauge (full) within easy reach of driver or an on-board fire extinguisher. No duct tape or plastic ties.
PROTEST RULE
The absence of a specific rule or item does not mean it is approved. Consult with the tech-man for approval.
No grinding or defacing of any casting numbers. Any motor parts with missing or altered casting numbers are illegal regardless of the reason. To pull and inspect a carburetor is $100.00. To pull a head the protest amount will be $250.00. To pull a camshaft will be $300.00. To pull a motor out to check the bottom end will be $600.00 (of which $200.00 will go to the tech inspector).
A proper protest will be completed as follows:
The driver must notify the flagman or the front straightaway track official, which will then alert the car being protested. The car will then be impounded in tech and the protesting party will have ten (10) minutes to present the amount of money as stated above for what is being protested. This must be presented in the form of cash, money order, or cashier’s check. No business or personal checks will be accepted. The track officials, and only the track officials, shall determine when the ten (10) minutes will begin, and the funds must be presented to the tech man.
ADDITIONAL PROTEST RULE: $100.00 for rear end, brakes, visual, wheelbase, transmission, or clutch.
ALL interpretations by the track are final. The track reserves the right to add weight to any competitor in the fairness of competition.

THEY ARE INTENDED AS A GUIDE FOR THE CONDUCT OF THE SPORT AND ARE IN NO WAY A GUARANTEE AGAINST INJURY OR DEATH TO A PARTICIPANT, SPECTATOR, OR OFFICIAL.
THE RACE DIRECTOR OR HEAD TECH INSPECTOR SHALL BE EMPOWERED TO PERMIT REASONABLE AND APPROPRIATE DEVIATION FROM ANY OF THE SPECIFICATIONS HEREIN OR IMPOSE ANY FURTHER RESTRICTIONS THAT IN THEIR OPINION DO NOT ALTER THE MINIMUM ACCEPTABLE REQUIREMENTS. ANO EXPRESSED OR IMPLIED WARRANTY OF SAFETY SHALL RESULT FROM SUCH ALTERCATIONS AND DEVIATIONS. ANY INTERPRETATION OR DEVIATION OF THESE RULES IS LEFT TO THE DISCREATION OF THE OFFICALS AND IS FINAL BINDING.
ON OCCASION WHEN SITUATIONS ARISE THAT ARE NOT COVERED BY WRITTEN RULES HEREIN, SPECIAL RULINGS MAY BE PUT INTO EFFECT BY THE TRACK OFFICALS. ONCE SUCH RULINGS ARE ACTED UPON, THEY MAY BECOME AN ACT OF POLICY AND WILL BE ADDED TO THE EXISTING RULES OF PROCEDURES.
