2023 Ford Outlaws / 4.6 Fords

A. SPIRIT OF THE RULES – The creation of an affordable, entry-level way to enter stock car oval racing. Keeping the cars very stock is the priority. Changes not listed in these rules are not allowed.
B. CARS – Only the Ford Crown Vic, Mercury Grand Marquis, or Lincoln Town Car 1991 and newer.
C. DRIVERS – Must wear a clearly-labeled helmet that meets or exceeds the 2010 SA Snell or SFI 31.2 standards. Fire suit, racing shoes and racing gloves are mandatory. The use of an approved neck brace or Hans style device is highly recommended.
D. CAR NUMBER – number must be officially registered. Numbers must appear on both front doors and on the roof. Door and roof numbers shall be a minimum of 18” tall and 3” in line thickness. Numbers must contrast in color (light vs dark) from car color. The roof number needs to be facing the passenger side of the car. There must be a 6” white car number in the upper corner of the windshield on the passenger side of the car.
E. TECH – Car must go through inspection at its first visit to the track. After each feature the top 3 finishers and any other cars selected will go to tech. Those drivers and 2 crew members can assist with tech on those cars.
F. CHEATING – 1st offense will bring driver and car disqualification from that event as well as both being suspended from the next event. A 2nd offense will bring a driver ban from all Hendry until a $300 fine is paid.
DRIVE TRAIN
A. ENGINE – Must remain an entirely stock 4.6L SOHC engine. Manifold stock. Stock computers. Cold air intakes are allowed or any aftermarket air intake
B. RADIATOR – Must contain water only.
C. BATTERY – May remain in stock location or moved into a secure box.
D. FUEL KILL SWITCH – In rear of deck or behind drivers roll cage or kill all switch if battery is relocated.
E. EXHAUST – Can be whatever you like. Catalytic converter may be replaced with a pipe. Note: there are o2 sensors on some years that need to be there to run well.
F. TRANSMISSION – Must remain entirely stock.
G. REAR END – You may weld the spider gears or use factory posi aftermarket lockers o.k. You may weld the spider gears or use factory posi. You may change the gear ratio of the rear-end.
INTERIOR
A. ROLL CAGE – Must be a minimum 4-point cage with 1 1/2 .095 tubing with 4 curved door bars on the driver’s side. Straight bars can be used on the passenger side. A driver’s door plate is recommended. It is recommended that the cage be welded to the frame and not the floor, but not required. No down bars. The cage must not be set back past front rear floorboard. This should not be possible anyway being pedals must remain in stock location, unaltered.
B. SEAT & BELTS – A racing seat is required along with a 5-point racing harness. Belts can be no older than 3 years past the clearly marked manufacturer dates on them.
C. WINDOW NET – A properly mounted window net is mandatory and must be used at all times on track.
D. STEERING COLUMN – Must remain in stock location. Adding of a quick disconnect steering wheel is allowed.
E. WINDSHIELD – Must have 2 half inch bars in front of driver for protection. (Metal screen is recommended but not mandatory) Glass must be removed, all mirrors must be removed.
F. DASH – Must be in stock location but does not have to remain stock. All air bags in the entire car must be removed.
G. PEDALS – Must remain stock, in stock location. No extensions or alterations of any kind.
H. BALLAST – No adding of any weight to the entire car. Track can add weight to any competitor at any time. Weight minimum is 2,950.00. No adding of lead in doors, cage or any other location.
EXTERIOR
A. SUSPENSION – No altering of the suspension. Sway bar may be removed. including sway bar links. No spacers of any kind. No air rides. No cutting, no heating, or no lowering of springs. Shocks and springs can only be replaced by same stock parts or OEM replacements. Springs may not be cut and must be same size from side to side. (can cut two 2” holes above rear shocks to access top shock nut). Shocks must be Monroe, KYB, Ford Factory OEM replacement or sensitrack. NO RACING SHOCKS PERIOD.
B. CASTER & CAMBER – You may adjust as factory adjustments allow. No other modifications. (Factory length bolts must be used in upper control arm mounts)
C. TIRES – D.O.T. Tires only. No snow tires or all terrain tires. No high performance tires. No directional tires. Nothing under 350 tread wear, or any tire that cost $125.00 or more. No autocross tires. All tires must be same size on all four corners.
D. WHEELS –Must be steal stock wheels. All 4 wheels must be the same size and offset. No wheel spacers. No offset wheels on cars 2003 and newer. 2002 and older cars may use Dodge Charger Factory 17’’ steel wheels, Ranger wheels, Jeep Cherokee wheels or Ford Explorer wheels. Absolutely No Bart wheels or any other racing wheels. Stock Aluminum wheels have been previously allowed, but are being phased out.
E. B Pillars are not required and doors may be reskimmed. No other hulling or lightning of the car is allowed. This has previously been stated in the rill cage section of the rules however is being restated for emphasis. The cage must not be set back past front rear floorboard.
F. No interior decking of any kind is allowed in the 4.6 class for any reason including for looks. There will be absolutely no exception of this rule.
G. Bumpers- Must remain stock or 1 single 1 ¾ round tubing steal bumper is allowed. Ends must turn back towards the frame. Any shape edges or points must be addressed. A steel tubing towing hoop is recommended welded to the top of the front bumper. It can be no wider than 3’’ past the frame rails. No excessive bracing. This is at the sole discretion of the tech inspector.
H. There is no claimer rule in this class, however there is a swap a rule. To swap a car you must finish within 5 positions of the car being swapped with. The swap must be in writing within 10 minutes after the feature or before the car clears tech for the night. In addition to the car swap the driver initiating the swap must in addition pay $2,500.00 to the driver being swapped with. Both drivers involved in the swap may take the seat and belts out.
I. The computer in each car must match the generation of the car. A Mercury Marquis may use a P71 computer from a crown vic.
J. Major infractions – If you have been caught for any performance enhancing computers, performance aftermarket parts, altering the torque converter, the car and driver will be banned for 6 calendar months for the 1st offence. A second offence will constitute a 12-month calendar year suspension. The 3rd offence the car and driver will be banned from the 4-6 Ford Division permanently.
K. The track at its discretion reserves the right to swap computers amongst competitors at any given time. Drivers and car owners have no influence on this decision.
L. All tech questions are to be discussed directly with the tech inspector. Approaching the owner of the track concerning rules is no allowed and in most cases the driver will be docked 25 points as all have been warned. Should the driver not be docked it will be at the owner’s sole discretion not to be influenced by competitors. Another words do not get involved for any reason.
M. There have previously been issues with mirrors, no car will be allowed to compete with a mirror. Should you be caught with a mirror being used it will be automatic disqualification. If a visiting pavement car has a mirror, it must be blacked out using tape and will be inspected by the tech inspector prior to competing.
